consult [kuhn-'suhlt] verb - to seek advice or information from; ask guidance from. Since all of the documents involved in buying a house are very complicated, Peter should consult his lawyer before signing the final contract.
delicate ['del-i-kit] adj - fragile; easily damaged; frail. Michael was mad about his sister breaking the delicate family heirloom. It had been well stored and passed down for generations.
condemn [kuhn-'dem] verb - to express an unfavorable or adverse judgment on; indicate strong disapproval of; censure. Megan stared down at the last few vegetables on her plate. Although she was not a fan of cabbage, she knew that her father condemned the needless waste of food, so she did her best to finish.
credulous ['krej-uh-luhs] adj - willing to believe or trust too readily, esp. without proper or adequate evidence; gullible. It is important that teachers of junior high and high school not be too credulous by nature, otherwise students will often give wild, unlikely excuses and get away with it.

appraise [uh-'preyz] verb - to estimate the nature, quality, importance, etc. Ethan wanted his friend to appraise the market value of an old Macintosh computer. He thought it might be worth a lot more as a collectible item.
jeopardize ['jep-er-dahyz] verb - to put in risk; hazard; imperil. When I was driving my aunt to the emergency room to deliver her second child, I knew that I needed to get there quickly. I obeyed all the traffic rules, though, because I didn't want to jeopardize the safety of everyone in the car.
